P320 Vs G19 - It's Glock vs. SIG: Are words fighting, boy? See why Travis thinks the P320C comes out on top.
SIG's P320 was a huge success. Not only have the M17 and M18 series been adopted by the military, but by hundreds of law enforcement officers and tens of thousands of concealed carriers. SIG has thrown its full weight behind the gun and allows customers like me to pick and choose parts for our P320s. I did this with my P320C, C compact.
P320 Vs G19
The compact size of firearms as we know them today started with the Glock 19 and the SIG P228. The Glock 19 series quickly became the standard bearer of the polymer-framed, striker-fired compact pistol. Glock has gotten a little complacent, though, and the P320C could eat its lunch before you know it.
Glock 19x Versus Sig P320 M18
Like the Glock 19, the P320C offers a compact pistol with a double-stack magazine and enough size to fill one hand, but is easily concealed. Unlike the Glock 19, the P320 comes with real metal sights, a special Picatinny rail, a more ergonomic grip, and the ability to make it your own. Mine custom series slide with an optical mount and X series grip module with Legion series trigger.
Being able to pick and choose your components puts the P320C above most pistols at its price point.
At the core of the P320C and P320 series is generally the FCU. The fire control unit is the official firearm part of the P320. This little guy has a serial number and gives shooters the ability to jump between the gun and frame. I can convert my P320C to a full size P320 with parts that I can easily order online.
This allows for more modularity than any other gun I know of today. It allowed me to buy my dream P320C and you can do the same. The P320C has metal night sights, two magazines and multiple configurations.
Sig Sauer P320 Vs Glock 19
The gun weighs 25.8 ounces, measures 7.2 inches long, 1.3 inches wide, 5.3 inches tall, and has a 3.9 inch barrel. It's a compact pistol that's easy to conceal, but it's still the perfect combat pistol. It can run a full size light on its picatinny rail and, as you can see, is the perfect host for optics.
If you're not a fan of the Glock grip angle, fear not. The P320C has a more American grip angle very similar to the 1911. Although this is a personal preference, it gives me a more ergonomic grip. At the rear we have a nice beaver tail that pushes the high pressed handle to maximize control.
Under the trigger we have a good back to support that high grip. The gun is comfortable and seems to fit both large and small hands well.
The controls are simple. The slide release is classic SIG. This means that it is easy to reach, but also very easy to identify while shooting and render useless. It's ambidextrous, which is really nice. The magazine release is easy to reach and reversible but not ambidextrous.
Glock Vs Sig Sauer: Which Is Better?
In my hands, this is one of the most accurate compact pistols on the market. After adding a red dot, it got even better. The P320C allows me to hit an 8 inch gong at 50 yards with no problem. The Legion trigger offers a flat, very crisp trigger that slides back to a light wall and then a smooth break.
Speaking of speed, I hit the 10-10-10 drill and fired it without a heater. The 10-10-10 drill has ten rounds on a B8 target at ten meters in ten seconds. I have it with all of them, not only on the black, but on the 9 ring and seven seconds on my first run. From there I saw my time drop to fractions of a second while maintaining excellent accuracy.
Excellent actuation, optics and ergonomics give the P320C the edge in this configuration. However, a stock P320C can also fire directly. These features help the shooter eliminate human error, but if the core of the gun is flawed, they are less useful.
Ooh, here's a big problem that will quickly fail a firearm. If it is not executed, the accuracy, ergonomics and such are not useful. So does the P320C run? Well, after a few hundred rounds of my down range, I can happily say, yes, it runs.

Besides me, the US Army had quite a few torture weapons, as did dozens of police forces across the country. I would venture to say that it is very reliable.
The SIG P320C offers a more sophisticated compact pistol. It is user customizable, highly accurate, reliable and now the US Army's choice of M18 series. If you want a better Glock 19, the P320C is the way to go.

Since deciding between these two beauties can be more difficult than you think, let's look at them one by one. Once you have a clear picture of what each one offers, we do a little comparison to make your decision a little easier.

This interchangeable gun system seems to be quite popular at the moment. That doesn't mean it shouldn't be. While a modular pistol is not an unheard of idea, Sig Sauer has one of the most efficient designs for changing frames, grip sizes, slide lengths and calibers.
While most companies offer adjustable back panels, Sig Sauer decided to go with interchangeable frames. These frames are available in different sizes; compact, subcompact, carry and full size. Each frame is sold separately. Of course, since you are able to change the frames, you can also change the frame size.
Also, if you want to shoot many different cartridges, you can use caliber conversions. So to put things into perspective, once you buy the Sig Sauer P320, you basically have a ton of different ways to use it. So far the sig sound is perfect. Let's move on to frame sizes.

It has a 3.6 inch barrel and measures 6.7 inches long, 1.3 inches wide and 4.7 inches tall. Weighing in at 24.9 oz, this frame has a 12+1 magazine capacity.
It's 5.5" tall, but other than that it's basically the same as the compact frame. However, because it's taller, this frame has a magazine capacity of 17+1.
Finally, the full size frame has a 4.7" barrel and is 8" long, 1.3" wide and 5.5" tall weighing 29.5 oz, the magazine capacity of this frame is 17+1.
With this model, Sig Sauer decided to improve some features of the Sig Sauer P250, especially the trigger.

This pistol offers a very accurate shot, so if you consider yourself an expert shooter, the P320 will improve your shooting.
