p320 vs glock

P320 Vs Glock - A US Army soldier from the 7th Special Forces Group fires a Glock-19 pistol during the annual Best Task Force Alpha competition at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, on September 9, 2020.

Ford x Chevy and Coke x Pepsi have nothing to do with the Glock 19 x Sig P320. In the tactical and firearms community, this debate is heated. This is a battle of two of the best weapons in the category of modern semi-automatic polymer pistols.

P320 Vs Glock

Some of the most heated debates I've ever witnessed or been part of involve enthusiasts trying to convince someone why they chose the best weapon. It can be quite interesting to watch. The Glock 19 vs. Sig P320 is one of the most common debates I see. That's even a debate in my own house.

Gun Matchup: Glock 21 Vs. Sig Sauer's P320 (what Should You Choose?)

As a civilian firearms instructor, I am often asked, "Which pistol is best and which one should I buy?" Let me break it down now and lay down some ground rules. If anyone proclaims that their choice is the best and only "best", feel free to ignore them. In this community, if anyone proclaims that your path is the "only way", duck and run for cover. Crawl low out of there as fast as you can. Or clear the smoke and vacate your current location in a big hurry. Just friendly and professional advice.

A few years ago, when the US Army announced that it would finally open a competition for a new handgun replacement for the aging Beretta M92, the stage was set for an epic battle. Fast forward to the final two and top contenders: Glock and Sig were the obvious choices. By the looks of it, it was a tight race and probably not an easy choice for the Army (cost aside).

In short, Sig won. They were selected as the overall "Best Value" for the Army and met the requirements for a truly modular or adaptable firearm system. Sig Sauer won the $580 million contract and will supply 300,000 units over 10 years. Glock, also a workhorse and tried-and-true standard in the tactical community, introduced the Glock 19x, an update to the venerable Glock 19. It offered a new barrel and was essentially a Glock 19 in a Glock 17 frame, with room for more. two. bullets In the end, perhaps what hurt Glock was that they tried to simply update the Glock 19 while Sig offered the new P320. Glock disputed the results of the competition and Sig's victory. The government retained the prize and rejected Glock's challenge.

The Glock's strategy was to let its reputation guide itself, but in doing so it failed to meet the competition's modular requirements. However, Sig has created something truly unique in the world of firearms. The fact that the grips/frames are modular and interchangeable in size makes the rifle very attractive to the Army (and Marines) as it can accommodate so many different people with different hands. For some, the Glock's shape and how it feels in the hand is reason enough not to like them.

Sig P320 Xten Review

I've never understood why some people in the firearms community are so adamantly against Glocks or even hate them. A SWAT 18B (an ODA team gunner) once told me he wouldn't choose a Glock if it was the only weapon available. (Insert a little shrug emoji here.) There really isn't much to hate about the Glock. In fact, there's very little not to like. Its simplicity and functionality is its beauty

. All the time. Again and again. They set the standard years ago, proving what a polymer semi-automatic pistol could be.

However, many people are concerned about the Glock's boxy nature and grip angle. All other complaints or arguments aside, this is important because grip and grip angle can affect some shooters. However, some would argue that the Glock's slightly awkward angle makes it easier to fire and that this angle helps to aim the gun more efficiently. However, for others, it is uncomfortable and not very ergonomic.

Don't think for a second that, when developing the Sig P320, Sig didn't use the Glock as a target to beat. It feels great in the hand and has a replaceable, more ergonomic handle. Both guns are equally reliable in my experience. Both shoot well and handle all types of ammo without issue. Both are equally accurate, although newer fifth generation Glocks with matching grade barrels that come standard may have very little accuracy advantage. In pistol range, however, I doubt it makes much of a difference.

Sig P320 Vs. Sig P365 For Concealed Carry :: Guns.com

I shoot both equally well and high accuracy has never been an issue for me. In IDPA shooting events, I never felt at a disadvantage when using one or the other. Any reliability issues with a Glock 19 or Sig P320 are usually related to the ammo or magazine, not the gun. (I often thought this was a problem with the Beretta M92 too: cheap ammo and bad old magazines have been languishing in gun rooms for years.) Buy decent ammo and mind your magazines, and then you'll have a thing or two to do. least, which are worth worrying about.

Both weapons cost about the same on the civilian market, and there are now a huge number of third-party and off-the-shelf customizations. Many companies offer Glock parts and upgrades, and Sig now allows you to purchase P320 parts separately. The different configurations of the Sig P320 also take into account whether you want to use it as a carry gun.

The Glock 19 and Sig P320 are as big as they can be concealed properly and still can be concealed with the right clothing, belt and holster - the holster is the most important part, followed by the right belt.

I enjoy a good debate and it's fun to pull a pin and throw a grenade in a group setting and see what happens next. So I have to share this as the foundation for the rest of the conversation: you can't go wrong with any weapon. Wait what?!

Glock Vs Sig Sauer: Which Is Better?

I can already hear you Glock fans (and gals) screaming "heresy!" And I know Sig fans are getting ready to lash out in the comments section.

In today's world of cancel culture, the inability to make independent decisions based on free thinking is pervasive. This is also seen in the tactical community. Many people believe that their tactical and technical knowledge is the only thing that matters or can be right. We tend to eat each other like everyone else. Sorry to break this to you. Unfortunately, it happens. I really like. Call of Duty has a lot of tactics operators and enemies and people who talk about the great game. People who don't know Jack either.

When training a novice or novice marksman looking to get into the hobby or self-defense, I always start with the Glock 19. Then I introduce the Sig P320. In fact, I dropped them right in the middle of the Glock 19 vs. Sig P320. Because you can't go wrong with a Glock 19 or Sig P320.

P320 Vs Glock

Both weapons are very reliable and work very well. If you try to weigh the pros and cons of the Glock 19 against the Sig P320, they come out pretty evenly balanced. In the firearms enthusiast community, as in the "professional" tactical community, it's all about tradeoffs. And one size never fits all. You must research what suits you best.

I Team: Mpd Switches To New Guns Due To Concerns; How Do They Compare?

In full disclosure, I own four of these pistols: two Glock 19s and two Sig P320s. When I bought my first Sig P320 I felt like I was cheating on my Glock. So I lived after being pampered with that sweet trigger pull and amazing trigger release. When I pick up a Glock 19 and it practically goes off on its own, I fall in love all over again.

Hold them in your hands and watch how they fit together. Ask a friend to shoot you a gun, or go to a gun stand where you can rent one. Shoot side by side, back and forth, with some ammo boxes. I do this for all my new shooters and it always helps them make the right choice. When making what may one day truly be a life-changing decision, take your time and see what works best for you. But this is a dilemma that you cannot miss.
